Jams are compulsory, so is having a good time. Workshops The 'Workshops' are the core of the Redlands Bluegrass Convention. Detailed tuition on many aspects of bluegrass instruments are covered. There is the additional advantage of being able to personally discuss your particular enquires with the experts at the workshops or informally during the weekend. The Redlands Bluegrass Convention provides a great opportunity to learn and refine the intricacies of bluegrass from some of the very best players in Australia. Slow Jams The 'slow jam' sessions for beginners were very popular and we will again offer sessions for the main instruments. This is a great opportunity to pull a tune apart and learn it at a comfortable pace. The sessions are staggered so that you can attend all workshops for your instrument(s) IT WILL BE A GREAT WEEKEND, BE THERE !
( 35 kilometers south east from Brisbane ) Where Is It ? The Kindilan Conference Centre ( kin -dill - an ) is owned by the Girl Guides Association. The camp is set in beautiful bushland, and is an environmental paradise. There is plenty of wild life, and many bush walking tracks. If you are not totally involved in the music, there are plenty of things for you and the kids to fill the weekend. The Redlands Modern Country Music Club has been operating for over 27 years. In that time, it has been an instigator of many musical activities, including the annual country music festival and the 'Champion of Champions' competition, and this Redlands Bluegrass Convention. The Club has always been available to assist musicians in their goals, and many members have gone on to follow successful musical careers. The reputation of our Redlands Bluegrass Convention has spread far and wide, the response has been terrific, and we are sure we can still continue to improve. How to Get There The Kindilan Convention Centre is off Redland Bay Road. ( UBD
Refidex reference 246 C2 ) Closest train connection is to Cleveland, and a bus service is available ( infrequently ) from the Cleveland station to German Church Road. The Kindilan Camp offers a range of excellent accommodation facilities to suit a wide range of requirements. Coming fro the Gold Coast, take the Cleveland turn off at the Pacific hwy, just after the Ipswich Motorway turn- off. Follow Bryants Road which turns into Redland Bay Road. Turn left into Mt Cotton Road, turn right at the petrol station into Valley Way, which turns into German Church Road. 'Kindilan' is on the right and will be marked by "Blue Grass" signs. NB: Anyone staying on site (must pay accom cost for Friday and Saturday night) and must purchase a full weekend registration. The Roundhouses Two buildings with ten separate rooms, each containing
